... That time in the summer of 2019 when you got invited to "give it your best shot", come to Camp Atterbury, and go head to head with all the industry's big dogs and shoot ammo none of the field had ever seen before it was handed out the day of the shoot. For the MRGG-S competition, we showed up with three of our purpose-built LaRue sub-9lb. full-auto 17" 6.5 CM rifles. They said "Why so small?" ... "Cause your solicitation said 'must be sub-9lbs' " ... "Oh, that was a typo" ..... Then they said "Why's it full-auto ?" ... "Cause your solicitation said 'must be full-auto' " ... "Oh, rats, that was another typo." Scopes and scope rings were handed out to all dozen or so competitors, and we mounted them to our satisfaction, bore sighted, ready to shoot. Next day ammo was handed out that we'd all never seen (Blah, blah, blah, Lot 1). "Ready on the Left, Ready on the Right, ready on the firing line. Commence firing". Everybody blazed away. The line was stopped numerous times for various competitors to clear malfunctions. Our little rifles never malfunctioned once , never popped a primer, or showed signs of pressure. And we were getting the accuracy required with their ammo. After the smoke cleared, the average of all three LaRue MRGG-S rifles averaged 0.891 moa. Easily meeting the accuracy spec. There's a possibility we were the only one that day that qualified accuracy-wise. 🤷 Anyhow, we were asked to leave our 3 beauties for a week of intensified shooting. Which we did. Then we flew home - The End 😎 ML

  -  laruetactical @snougaloogie .... Nah, the Navy bought 105 LaRue MRGG-S Rifles, replete with all the fixin's. And another 150 went to Accuracy1st's .mil students. That means there's 250 LaRue MRGG rifles in the wild ... a tough PR ridge for someone new to machining to take. 😎 16 likes
