charliesclones We sell the Geissele Mk18 which is just that. Does not sell as well as MLOK with an ARCA rail attachment 🤷 2 likes

  -  charliesclones @laruetactical market insight. We sell a bunch of Cadex ARCA rails. Not so many integrated ARCA (bottom) rails 1 like
  -  charliesclones @laruetactical but, variety is good. Run a small batch and see how you do 🧐 1 like
  -  brosinarmsusa @charliesclones seems to be the way of the future with precision guns though. I think it'd nice to come standard with the gun...
  -  charliesclones @brosinarmsusa hey, that's an option. One the ML is exploring. I am just adding my 2-c of what I see as a dealer. It seems to be a nice product on 15" rails, and folks have the option.

longrangefossen I'm not into it. Pick a rail type and stick with it. Also the tapers on the ends of the ARCA mean you lose ability to hit a propper balance point if using on a tripod and it adds weight without function plus makes your machining processes more difficult. 10 likes
  -  charliemike321 @longrangefossen ML, this guy as well! 🔥
  -  laruetactical @longrangefossen ... None of my machining processes are difficult. I opened my shop in 1980 ... 42 years ago.
  -  longrangefossen @laruetactical I get wanting some aesthetic, but at some point you're taking away function but leaving extra weight and adding a machining step when you could just radius the end corners with a 1/4" and save some machining time and keep function. 1 like

douglasearl264 Lose the picatinny rail near the end. Everyone has gone to all ARCA. Also get rid of the long taper on the ends, that deletes valuable realestate for clamp use (tripod head or bipod clamp- both arca.) Virtually all PRS competitors run only ARCA. I know some police and military will have some gear that uses pic rails but those are old and going away more each day. Maybe have the option to install either but both on one fore end is counter productive for most people. 14 likes
  -  bokevv @douglasearl264 this
  -  oncefiredphoenix @douglasearl264 exactly, why wouldn't you want to be able to slide stuff off the end? I use ARCA a lot.

carlos.aa84 Why not just arca mounts that can be attached to existing rails, (for those with OBR's)or is that something you don't offer? 1 like

ccarnel Thumbs up.. especially if u can make the arca rail extend the full length of the handguard.. no need for pica tinny rail if the Arca goes full length
  -  laruetactical @ccarnel ... I had it full length, then I hacked a couple inches off so I could sneak that piece of Picatinny in. 1 like
  -  laruetactical @ccarnel ... And the big chamfers are to make sliding through foliage snag-free. 1 like
  -  ccarnel @laruetactical i have a really right stuff quick detach mount for my bipod (though Id buy yours if you made one with ur nifty lever!) id also prefer making it extend as far back towards the magwell as possible.. when mounting the rifle to a tripod the balance point is often close to the magwell and I find I mount the rifle in that area
  -  ccarnel @laruetactical I'm total amateur hr here but the most used real estate for my arca railed handguards are at the very end for a bipod mount, and right next to the magwell for my mount to shoot off a tripod... 1 like
  -  compton.bryan @ccarnel, like this one? https://www.larue.com/products/harris-bipod-brm-s-and-larue-tactical-lt130-qd-mount/ They have others if you don't like Harris.
  -  ccarnel @compton.bryan Got several with larues QD plate as well as several atlas bipods with QD mount. If @laruetactical made a quick detach mount that worked on an arcaswiss rail to adapt a bipod Id buy that as well as that fore end with the full arcaswiss rail...

  -  charliemike321 @laruetactical Yes.
  -  laruetactical @charliemike321 ... Yes what ?
  -  charliemike321 @laruetactical Yes @redamericancerakote knows more than the 99% thumbs up votes. It's not my place to explain why but trust me I'm correct. I've purchased 4 of your rifles so not a hater just trying to help.
  -  laruetactical @charliemike321 ... Bullshit. No way you know this whoever is the top 1%.
  -  charliemike321 @laruetactical I'm extremely far from the top 1% but I get the honor to shoot and learn from them. If I wanted to design an accessory I'd listen to the guys at the pinnacle who shoot 1,000's of rounds a year using this accessory in field conditions.
  -  laruetactical @charliemike321 ... In the 70s, as a kid, I killed crows at 400+ and groundhogs out to 600 with a 2.5-8 Bausch & Lomb on top of a 7mmMag that I was handloading Sierra 120 Spitzers on top of 75 grains of long grain War Surplus 4831. I am my own expert.
  -  charliemike321 @laruetactical All while using an ARCA rail, right? We are all genuinely attempting to provide feedback based on real world use. Who do you think is more likely to purchase your AR with an ARCA rail, average hunter / target shooter or a competition shooter who's accessories are already setup for ARCA?
  -  laruetactical @charliemike321 ... Some .mil guys have an interest ... I'm doing research. 1 like
  -  laruetactical @charliemike321 ... As for an ARCA rail, 40 years ago you had to know the backwoods neighborhood you were in, roll to a stop, show her which chuck you were going for, set window height right, settle crosshair, guess 2 foot over, send it. Farmer's hay baler saved from damage next year. 1 like

sierra_actual Make the whole bottom Arca. Cross machine tool did a nice job with their version 1 like
awilliams30808 I like the idea of the ARCA rail not extending to the very end of the platform. I use a tripod on a daily basis and my current set up us heavy and I only utilize about 4" to 5" of total rail space. Not to mention it gets heavy....that's a lot of material and I have never seen anyone mount that far out on the rail to justify the full length.
  -  laruetactical @awilliams30808 ... What about extending the ARCA back to the magwell, but leave the front as-is ? Thanks for passing along your observations. 1 like
  -  awilliams30808 @laruetactical that would be the best option. It will reduce weight and will be easier on the hands when not mounted and shooting free hand
icecoldmn Don't mind it as a option but as a random shooter I have no need for it and it certainly doesn't look comfortable to hold.
  -  laruetactical @icecoldmn ... That's my thoughts as well, but it's what's the cool kids are into.
  -  pewpewvette @laruetactical I'd keep the Arca near the magwell and taper it out halfway. $0.02
  -  icecoldmn @laruetactical I know I'm not cool I still shoot some LaRue's running keymod, and they are still accurate as hell, but I'm all for options and seeing you sell guns by adding options
american.hobo 👎 It would be alot better if you made it like the @geissele mk18 rail. That has arca as the bottom rail. 1 like
  -  laruetactical @american.hobo ... Why would that be better than adding it to so many existing LaRue rails ?
  -  american.hobo @laruetactical I would rather but a larue rail with the arca built in, rather than the bolt on option. No risk of stripping or loosing bolts, lighter, and generally less bulk since it would not be an addition. I understand thats not a fits all/ quick fix approach, but one that I would prefer.
lhjones3 Plus 1 for full length ARCA. Minus the tapers. Right in front of the mag well and the far end of the fore end are the most important places for tripod and bipod placement respectively. Also, there are really good ARCA>picatinny adapters on the market for any legacy equipment.
  -  laruetactical @lhjones3 ... ✅
nicholasborne I'm not a huge fan of integrated ARCA. I'd rather screw it on. What happens then you treat it like a comp gun for a couple years and the ARCA is all chewed up and no accessory slides well any more?? You get a small exemption since you could replace the whole forend, but how does the cost compare to a new forend or just a new ARCA rail?
  -  awilliams30808 @nicholasborne after 4 years of almost daily ARCA rail use....I have never encountered a chewed up rail 1 like
  -  laruetactical @awilliams30808 ... 4 years ?! ... you gotta be an ARCA Plank Holder 😎
  -  awilliams30808 @laruetactical lol
  -  nicholasborne @awilliams30808 you must be a lot gentler on your equipment than me. My main comp rifle looks like I drag it around behind my truck. I've replaced the pic rail on the bottom twice....ML it sports a CAN mount. Has never failed me 1 like

bjoneill_ 👎👎 Full ARCA! There isn't any need for the taper or pic rail at the front with the modern ARCA mounts available now days. 1 like
jakeljacobsen Yes please. 👍👍👍
vince.salvatore1 I have used full length arca rails for a while and don't see a real need for it. I only use about 3-4" in front of the magazine on a tripod and the last 2-3" for my bipod. The rest in unused weight with no real purpose except being there as a full length bar of aluminum.
ant26555 Could you do full arca with mlok slots
stephencrews Fiat bottom rail has some practical field functionality sans tripod. Like how it sits on a @wiebadgear Fortune Cookie. Needs to come farther back towards magwell.
oncefiredphoenix I use ARCA on my competition rifles. Full length ARCA is the way to go, with Mlok slots in it. That way I can still Mlok for whatever reason if I want to but my rail can take anything ARCA for 17"
ahaley1775 I probably wouldn't have ordered one if it was like that. I agree with as an option comment.
shanecassiday Thumbs up! I ordered a siete and the only thing I was thinking I might like different is an arca rail adapter. I dont have a tripod setup to use with it yet, but it seems thats the direction all the cool kids are going.
  -  laruetactical @shanecassiday ... The cool kids 😎 1 like
william_andrew_edwards I prefer to keep the rail/mount point as close to the mag well as possible to improve balance on the tripod and to help with quick lateral adjustments. Mine is primarily a coyote set-up and there is no telling what point of the compass those jokers can come in from.
nebblumtlpo It looks like it bolts onto the fore end. I think that's a great way to do it. I would go all the way to the end though and then just taper like Apple's rounded corners. But then leave a way to fit a pic rail at the end for people that still run a bipod pic clamp.
  -  laruetactical @nebblumtlpo ... ✅
regularprecisiondude No need to have both ARCA and Picatinny. Those long cuts to streamline it need to be rounded cuts at the ends. You're giving up lots of valuable real estate. Very few would want a 12-15" Arca rail with only 9" of useable space, and the desired positions aren't useable...
