... The topic of the day, this particular 14.5" 6.5 CM, hasn't been cleaned since it's first shot some 2,000 or so rounds ago. Roughly 1,000 of its roughly 2,000 rounds was fired full-auto at a mil-invite-only demo day back in the spring. Anyhow, gonna have the guys clean it, but before I did I wanted to see how well it was shooting in it's present nasty condition = 0.300" 3-shot group with Hornady 140ELD (the only ammo I had close enough to grab and shoot). So let's clean it next week and then see how she reacts to a nice bath. Accuracy ... better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. You heard it here first folks 🎯 ML

cactus_weapons Don't clean um unless they need it. Especially if they still shoot lights out.
chei_alexander I need one of these hats.
djqx If I had known you were not bluffing, I would have bought multiple CAN mounts. Sniff sniff
  -  laruetactical @djqx ... Ha, thee was a CAN mount on this. I went "click, click, click" and opened fire 1 like

  -  johnnybwildered @djqx can't go wrong with LaRue mounts or guns. Especially for the money.
  -  djqx @johnnybwildered I did went wrong. I should have bought 4 instead of one. Indeed they are very high quality. Love larue products. 2 likes
  -  j_a_g_05 @johnnybwildered he means the price increases. CAN went from like $140 to $244. 1 like
  -  johnnybwildered @j_a_g_05 ahhh, I'm tracking! Yeah thinking back buying 3 or 5 might have been a good investment. 1 like

lineman7750 Do you happen to know what velocity you are getting on those 140s with the 14.5 barrel? 1 like

  -  lineman7750 @laruetactical ha yeah sure The guy that makes barrels with zero runout and uppers that shoot same hole does not like to do calculations and math

kylebryant8096 Cleaning of the barrel is over rated. I have never cleaned any of my Larue barrels and they shoot just as good as day one. Clean your chambers, and bolts, anything else is a waste of time 1 like
  -  pkake131 I agree. Vso gun channel made a good point that copper fouling should in theory protect the barrel
  -  laruetactical @pkake131 ... Ugh
  -  pkake131 @laruetactical now maybe he is wrong. Or I'm wrong for believing him? But heck, your post does make a good argument for it. Not saying you should never clean your barrel. But maybe using aggressive copper solvents isn't the way to go ?
  -  codywlaws Bingo. Don't clean the barrel until the groups open up
thacheez Nasty uck!🙌🔥😂

a_webstar How can I get a 12" @laruetactical scale? Even settle for 6"! Use them everyday in the trade.
fire_arms_channel @laruetactical still sub MOA so good enough
