"So we test fired the 6.5CM Siete. Zero at 100. Drop one mil at 300 yards. Dead on. Drop 2 mils at 400 yards dead on. Drop 3 mils at 500 yards. We are ready for tomorrow. Opening day of rifle."
Today ...
"Elk hunt is pretty slow. Seen 11 Moose but no elk. One coyote. The elk hunt is slow so coyote is dead. 435 yards. He never even took a step."
"2.35 holdover ?"
"Yeah, first I saw dust behind the coyote, then the coyote got all stiff legged and just fell over. He was dead before he knew anything happened.
I was shooting the 143 grain ELD X. It is ballistics are almost identical to the match ammo you gave me. (140 grain ELD). The X is for "expanding"
691 likesbradtully7 Do you think it will gain traction or are you interested in the 6.5 PRC? Getting used to it and it seems to be a flatter round at travel. Thoughts Mark?
  -  laruetactical @bradtully7 ... 6.5 bullets don't care what they were launched with and Kestrels handle everything
ghostyghost1121 Why shoot the coyote?
  -  laruetactical @ghostyghost1121 ... Cause it took a break from killing newborn calves and exposed itself like it hated life.
johnrodabaugh The minus-2 rule just flat works for the 6.5! 1 like
shane_and_shannon Please don't laugh at my question. But you're using 6.5 for elk?
  -  laruetactical @shane_and_shannon ... In 2008, I killed a Colorado bull with a 6.5 Grendel ... one shot at 415 yards. 10 likes

joseph5myers shane_and_shannon a 6.5 Creedmoor will easily kill anything walking in North America. In Europe the favorite hunting cartridge in Scandanavian countries for Moose and Brown bears is the 6.5x55 Swede. If you study any hunting history of old Africa as soon as smokeless powder came along the 6.5x54 Mannlicher Schoenauer alond with the 6.5x57 and the 7x57mm. The important thing to remember is that it is not what you hit them with but where. 1 like
