... If you ever wondered what pack trip elk hunting is like ... it's 25 miles and 8 hours of this. The river below is the South Fork of the Shoshone. Guide Paul Knox told me horse thieves made this trail we're on. They would steal horses to the north, drive them to the south on this trail, sell them. Then later steal different horses down there and drive them back up this trail and sell them in the north. ML
