... That last rifle was an 18" 5.56 tOBR, this one is a 20" 5.56 tOBR. I zero'd this one and aimed for the middle, while trying a little harder. The five group average = 0.458" ... ( 0.437moa ) So to answer your question, yep, another ho-hum LaRue rifle going out the door 💯 ML

upstate__n54 Mark as always excuse my ignorance but is there a reason you seem to build 18"+ barreled .556's more than the regular 16"? (Assuming yes you make 16" ones also but I 99.9% of the time see 18+) My assumption is for increased accuracy but every time I see or engage in this sort of topic in some of the gun groups I'm in, more times than none, I'll actually have ppl talking shit about longer barrels. Like borderline I never really see builds over 16 and less..and they all claim 'you can get the same ballistics and range from a 12.5"barrel there's no need for something over 16 and this and that blah blah .. something along those lines.. I'm not really sure what I'm asking here but In general is it actually smart to go longer barrel if it's the proper caliber your working with? Does it increase the range of the bullet? Sorry for the long comment I love your material and always learn something new !!! Anyone feel free to chime in @laruetactical 1 like
  -  laruetactical @upstate__n54 ... You see a lot of 18"ers cause that's the most popular length and we were swamped with 18"ers. As we improved and smoothed our facility, we went after the brunt of the UU Kit backorders = 18". 12" seems to be just as accurate as 18"ers, but you come out of the barrel faster and hit harder with an 18". If the Mrs. demanded I terminate the groundhog digging in her 400 yard deep horse loping pasture ... I'd grab the 18". Hope this helps. ☕ 1 like
  -  upstate__n54 @laruetactical yessir it helps I understand that pretty damn well, now I got all these considerations to build something over 16" , as always thank for the insight mark 🙌🏽 @laruetactical
  -  rampant2019 @upstate__n54 I relate it to how far you pull back on an arrow is how much further it'll go. Longer barrel so long dwell time before it drops. Didn't think 2 inches would make a diff right but ask my wife....it does😍😂 1 like

rampant2019 Same accuracy with ultimate upper kits? If I bought one and receiver from you how much would the rifle weigh?🤔
  -  laruetactical @rampant2019 ... Yes to same accuracy. Dunno about weight. I make solid, practical stuff ... it weighs what it weighs. 2 likes
  -  rampant2019 @laruetactical because I hunt with my shit and I'm getting to point in my life where carry less is more. So lugging around a 12lb 6.5 cm rifle in the south Tejas brush ain't for me. 👏
  -  joseph5myers @rampant2019 I have a 6.5 Grendel UU Kit that gets accuracy like this and weighs a little less than the 5.56 ones. It will do everything a 6.5 Creedmoor will inside of 500 yards. Mark shot a bull elk with one at 400 yards and tipped it over with 1 shot. There is also a good supply of factory ammunition if you don't reload.
  -  rampant2019 @joseph5myers hmmmm food for thought 😮
dipandvelcro I need 7.62 tOBR in my life
