... I bit off more than I could chew with this post 😎 So we showed up with three (3) LaRue MRGG-S rifles for Camp Atterbury event, and got some strange looks 🧐 "Mr. LaRue, why is it so small?" me - "Well, your solicitation said it was to be under 9 lbs." 🤷 "0h, oooo, that was a typo, guess you didn't get the memo." "But Mr. LaRue, why is it full auto ?" me - "Welp, cause your solicitation said it had to be full-auto" 🤷 "Oh, oooo, that was a typo too, guess you also missed that memo." 😳 So there we stood with a full-auto 17" 6.5CM that weighed under 9.0 lbs soaking wet ... and all 3 rifles we brought shot like a house on fire with Hornady 140ELD before we loaded them in the Navion (See pic). "Well alright then, let's shoot!!" Which we did and smoked the whole field with our little racehorse we called "Sea Biscuit" 😎 We didn't have a malfunction, ours showed no signs of pressure, we were shooting a LaRue-made match full-auto trigger, and a 17" LaRue-made barrel. Why 17" you say ? Cause we kept sawing barrel off until we met the 9 lb. weight requirement. 🤷 Anyhow, there's enough pics here for y'all to get the picture. As you know, we ended up getting a contract for 105 rifles, which we made, I then personally shot the L.A.T., and hauled them up to Crane. Again, our rifles ran the whole shoot without a malfunction, and outshot the whole field that day, and carried the day. As I said "harrowing tale" 😎 ML

  -  laruetactical @josephlima2013 ... Well, that's the odd part. LaRue won hands down at Atterbury. Then a few started whining cause their rifles couldn't run the ammo and they wanted a re-do. I told them to leave the damn ammo alone as it ran fine in my Sea Biscuits and was accurate AF. Anyhow, they bought 105 of our LaRue MRGG-S and only a handful from a couple of the 1st losers. They still haven't announced anything that I'm aware of, but they bought 20X more LaRues than the Brand X's 🤷 17 likes

  -  icecoldmn @benito2279 seems simple, get a shorter barrel to reduce weight, I love my 14.5 LaRue's very accurate

  -  benito2279 @icecoldmn if I could pull off 750,850 and 1000 yard shots with the 14.5 barrel. I would. The 3-5 moa targets were in between the hills and the wind wasn't much help. So the smaller calibers didn't seem to do well this weekend. 1 like

  -  benito2279 @laruetactical Mr. Mark. I did. I really trained up for this one. Was just trying to keep my total gun & gear weight below 30 lbs. The Piece of Crap NEMO ARMS ar10 I ran had a failure to feed, fail to extract plus 4 times failed to go in battery. Not good. Hindsight. I would have just dealt with few extra lbs. I won't make that mistake again ! 2 likes
