  -  peter_skellen @laruetactical hmmmmm, i have an FNA3G from 2005 and a 2nd from 2012. 24" heavy fluted CHF, hard chrome lined. Both with factory test targets under .300" guaranteed for over 10k rounds. As long as i use 168grain FGMM.

  -  peter_skellen @laruetactical best i got was .270" my pops can get a little better. Cmon now. Look it up. Was the FBI gun from 2004 till 2016. Its not made anymore tho. Its a tough gun.

  -  laruetactical ... Stop, you've been suckered, and you're trying to compare your asinine - guaranteed 0.300"- 1" diameter 2 foot long bull barrel on a bolt gun to an 18" packable gas gun. And since I make barrels, I know what constitutes "hard chrome" and you only know the hype that suckered you into your "10,000 round sub-0.300 guarantee" And oh by the way, the FBI HRT has been running LaRue 7.62 rifles for a number of years. 3 likes

day.man0 Do you have recommendations for scopes? I run ACOGs on my ARs but I don't think they are meant for tight groups. More for quick target acquisition, which they are great for. But why buy a LaRue rifle and add a scope that's not up to the task of squeezing out all the accuracy?

  -  joseph5myers @day.man0 I have had very good luck with Vortex Optics. Depending on how much you want to spend you can get most anything you desire in a scope and they come with a unconditional lifetime guarentee. 1 like

  -  bredfearn79 @day.man0 don't discount your ACOGs as long as they are true trijicon ACOGs. As for scopes...just go to cabelas or bass pro shops or where ever has a good selections of optics. After you figure out what you feel you are comfortable with start looking at all optics in that price range. That way you can compare image clarity, eye relief and weight with them side by side. Obviously there are going to be guys who will say buy this or that but look thru them first. I personally have a trijicog TA01nsn, burris xtrii, leupold vx3, vx5, freedoms, and a sightmark wolfhound which is way underrated in my opinion. 1 like

  -  day.man0 @bredfearn79 I do like my acogs. I was just thinking there might be something more appropriate for a precision rifle. I've got some reading/comparing to do. Just getting a feel for what other folks like as a starting point.

  -  day.man0 @joseph5myers I have had vortex on my radar. Cost isn't the issue. I mean there is a limit but I don't mind saving, I want to make sure I get something that suits the rifle.

  -  joseph5myers @day.man0 I have different Vortex scopes on my 6.5 PRC, 6.5 Grendel and my wifes 6.5 Creedmoor. The Grendel has a 1-8 on it and it is easy using the reticle for shots out to 800 yards. The Creedmoor has a 4-24 and the PRC has a 3-15 which I like the most but both are very capable 1000 yard rifles.

  -  smelliottshaw @laruetactical only log hobbs my dood. I'm not giving you shit im actually curious, i have seen it done with calipers. But where i work we use a keyence optical tool, even that struggles with thousands of an inch because the paper dosent rip evenly every time.
