... As I knew they would, all ten (10) 5.56 rifles shot great. Fast and easy proof-grouping. All ten 5.56 rifles averaged 0.4966 moa. Nine were 18", one was a 20". 100 yards, 77 gr Federal Gold Medal Match. Night-Force 5-25 ATACR. Watch your LaRueMail if you're waiting on a complete rifle.   -  laruetactical ... Uh, no. The accuracy is a dead give-away.
  -  peter_skellen @laruetactical hmmmmm, i have an FNA3G from 2005 and a 2nd from 2012. 24" heavy fluted CHF, hard chrome lined. Both with factory test targets under .300" guaranteed for over 10k rounds. As long as i use 168grain FGMM.
  -  laruetactical ... "Both with factory test targets under 0.300", guaranteed for over 10,000 rounds" .....................Yeah, bet you've never shot under 0.300" with it and the "0.300 inch 10,000 round guarantee is laughable. ML 1 like
  -  peter_skellen @laruetactical best i got was .270" my pops can get a little better. Cmon now. Look it up. Was the FBI gun from 2004 till 2016. Its not made anymore tho. Its a tough gun.
  -  laruetactical ... Well, you managed to squeak one group in under the 0.300" guarantee out of all the years of owning it. Big whup. Some guarantee 🤷 Those 10 rifles I shot today have 5 shots through them. One shot to see where it's hitting. Adjust the knobs. One shot to confirm. Then the 3-shot group. 1 like
  -  peter_skellen @laruetactical how long your barrels gonna shoot like that? 2k rounds? Maybe?
  -  laruetactical ... Stop, you've been suckered, and you're trying to compare your asinine - guaranteed 0.300"- 1" diameter 2 foot long bull barrel on a bolt gun to an 18" packable gas gun. And since I make barrels, I know what constitutes "hard chrome" and you only know the hype that suckered you into your "10,000 round sub-0.300 guarantee" And oh by the way, the FBI HRT has been running LaRue 7.62 rifles for a number of years. 3 likes
  -  peter_skellen @laruetactical i bet yer a lotta fun at parties. If it makes you feel better, i have 2 EAG BCM carbines because i think your barrel nut and hanguard is the best their is. Relax. Its a free country....for a while
  -  laruetactical ... And he resorts to disparagement, imagine that 😂 In that case, I was thinking the same thing about you 😎 1 like

day.man0 Do you have recommendations for scopes? I run ACOGs on my ARs but I don't think they are meant for tight groups. More for quick target acquisition, which they are great for. But why buy a LaRue rifle and add a scope that's not up to the task of squeezing out all the accuracy?
  -  joseph5myers @day.man0 I have had very good luck with Vortex Optics. Depending on how much you want to spend you can get most anything you desire in a scope and they come with a unconditional lifetime guarentee. 1 like
  -  bredfearn79 @day.man0 don't discount your ACOGs as long as they are true trijicon ACOGs. As for scopes...just go to cabelas or bass pro shops or where ever has a good selections of optics. After you figure out what you feel you are comfortable with start looking at all optics in that price range. That way you can compare image clarity, eye relief and weight with them side by side. Obviously there are going to be guys who will say buy this or that but look thru them first. I personally have a trijicog TA01nsn, burris xtrii, leupold vx3, vx5, freedoms, and a sightmark wolfhound which is way underrated in my opinion. 1 like
  -  day.man0 @bredfearn79 I do like my acogs. I was just thinking there might be something more appropriate for a precision rifle. I've got some reading/comparing to do. Just getting a feel for what other folks like as a starting point.
  -  day.man0 @joseph5myers I have had vortex on my radar. Cost isn't the issue. I mean there is a limit but I don't mind saving, I want to make sure I get something that suits the rifle.
  -  joseph5myers @day.man0 I have different Vortex scopes on my 6.5 PRC, 6.5 Grendel and my wifes 6.5 Creedmoor. The Grendel has a 1-8 on it and it is easy using the reticle for shots out to 800 yards. The Creedmoor has a 4-24 and the PRC has a 3-15 which I like the most but both are very capable 1000 yard rifles.

smelliottshaw I think significant figures are important here
  -  laruetactical @smelliottshaw ... But the insignificant figures in too 👀 1 like
  -  smelliottshaw @laruetactical are your measurements of the groups really accurate to the thousands of an inch?
  -  laruetactical @smelliottshaw ... I measure quick using a LaRue Ruler ... sometimes I put my reading glasses on 🤓
  -  laruetactical @smelliottshaw ... Do you log time spent in the airport environment, or just when the engine is running ?
  -  smelliottshaw @laruetactical only log hobbs my dood. I'm not giving you shit im actually curious, i have seen it done with calipers. But where i work we use a keyence optical tool, even that struggles with thousands of an inch because the paper dosent rip evenly every time.
  -  laruetactical @smelliottshaw ... Measure your 6" ruler with calipers, then measure same ruler with the Keyence 👀
travismbrown Predatobr 762's soon?
pawpawlammy That is just crap. I will never buy one. With that kind of accuracy I can't blame the rifle! 2 likes
bredfearn79 Wow, this got spirited quick!
shorebillybruce Some people commenting can't even outshoot their own rifles, and it shows
  -  laruetactical @shorebillybruce ... It's a paradox 🤷
  -  shorebillybruce @laruetactical with many factors that affect the shooter and the weapon system the same but different
  -  laruetactical @shorebillybruce ... We must endeavor to persevere
adamrbooth Try with 55 or 62 grain and get back to us 😏
  -  laruetactical @adamrbooth ... Yeah, offhand, slung-up, with an unfloated handguard.
  -  adamrbooth @laruetactical Nah just with regular ammo. That fact 77gr FGMM is not easy to come by...plus it's like cheating!
  -  adamrbooth @adamrbooth *Fancy
  -  laruetactical @adamrbooth ... I reloaded when I was a teenager. Killed a 575 yard groundhog with a 7Mag running my own handloads. Sierra 120gr Spitzers in front of 75 grains of military surplus 4831 & magnum primers, sighted-in 3" high at 100 🎯 ML
