... For those of you late to the party, I posted a suggestion for y'all to follow Brian Litz' page. Here's a good reason why. In this post, he shows how the average benchrest shooter shoots 5-shot 0.3 moa groups at 100 yards. That's with all sorts of ultra-precision reloading, fat-ass barrels (likely chosen from a set of 5 barrels), heavy tripods, leather rear bags, on and on. Meaning they shoot matches with groups between 0.1 moa to 0.5 moa. It's good to know what obsession can pull off in regards to groups shot in matches for all the marbles 😎 ML

rev1nra I would want better if I spent that kind of money on a bench gun.My 16" mid gas .223 wylde,1 in 8 twist ,H-bar profile AR type rifle does sub .5 moa at 100 yds. Using black hills 77.gr. otm with a 10 power nightforce with your QD mount and hybrid Harris bipod👍 1 like

  -  rev1nra @laruetactical I post very little in the way of firearm related stuff,just a few personal projects,I think I have the target somewhere,I only saved it because I was surprised how good the 77gr otm black hills did over standard ball and .223 ammo.

  -  rev1nra @gunmaniausa yes, but also my point being that I got those results from a semi auto rifle with factory ammo so while getting slightly better results from a gun that's a custom bolt action ,bench rest gun with precision hand loaded bench rest ammo,isn't that impressive for the time and money spent. 1 like
