... Here's the deal ... you zero your rifle with the TranQuilo. Then with the Tranquilo off, the rifle is high at 100, in the case of this 22-250 Siete barrel, it's exactly 2.5" high at 100 yards, putting it dead on out there at 300 yards ... aim at and shoot the coyote 😎 ML
556 likeskentrhill When grouping a new upper like that at 100 yards, what is the acceptable amount for windage to be off? So at what point would you send it back to the shop to have them check it out?
  -  icecoldmn @kentrhill pretty simple is it on the paper with the scope knobs at zero? If so adjust and move on
  -  laruetactical @icecoldmn ... I rarely ever touch the dials on that NightForce I primarily use. All LaRue barrels in LaRue receivers hit close enough to each other that I can find a spot to hold some piece of the reticle to, to get it to hit close enough to a bullseye to make it look like I was trying. 😎 2 likes
  -  kentrhill @laruetactical I have a couple larue uppers and a Daniel defense I can swap optics on and there within a couple inches at 25 yards. Pulled my acog off and threw it on a brand new geissele super duty upper and at 25 yards windage was 8 inches off.
  -  laruetactical @kentrhill ... Guess tenths of thousandths don't matter on railroads 🤷 1 like
lakeviewarms Is the 2.5" height adjustment at 100 due to the weight of the suppressor being off the barrel... in other words is that just a function of the muzzle being deflected slightly down with the added weight vs without ? 1 like
  -  laruetactical @lakeviewarms ... Go to @bryan_litz_ballistics post on 2/28/2022
  -  dale.patterson.94 @laruetactical , without going there, and having a 22-250, myself, distance from bore to the Centerline of the scope. That bullet is real flat.
tacticalslings The amount of impact change a suppressor makes on a weapon means nothing as long as it's repeatable. It's all part of your data info. In this case roughly 2.5 moa works out great. Heck I have a carbon wrapped barrel I tested that shifter 7 moa 1 like
  -  laruetactical @tacticalslings ... It's been my experience that my TranQuilo cans all do something similar to what's seen here. Kinda handy.
  -  tacticalslings @laruetactical well now that I have a brand new OBR barrel on my LaRue 7.62 I will have to save Pennie's for one of your cans. Running a Surefire now because one of the places I teach for gave me a screaming deal
  -  icecoldmn @laruetactical you are not whistling Dixie, my 4 tranquillos are all so close I don't even keep track of witch one I sighted it in with, just grab a can and go

gsprague Too bad I don't have a third barrel to play with :(
icecoldmn As a guy with 2 sietes any idea as to when all the barrels will be offered à la cart?
  -  laruetactical @icecoldmn ... "Check your email" for $200 Alex." 1 like
  -  icecoldmn @laruetactical my order was already in, I checked the site right after I posted and there they were like magic. Ordered one of everything I did not have because this is America. Lol. 1 like

dale.patterson.94 Back in about 1993, one of my acquaintances broke his gun when his sling came apart and he dropped it off the ladder to his blind... he had the gall to ask me if he could borrow my spare rifle, which was a Varmint Special in .22-250... My loads were leaving the barrel at 4100' per 2nd, and I was putting holes in holes at 2:00 yd. One of the local swat team members was pretty impressed, and wondered why I put the gun back only having fired 3 or 4 rounds through it. I was bored. 1 like
  -  dale.patterson.94 @dale.patterson.94 anyway, this guy wanted to borrow that rifle. I said, "Why should I loan you my rifle when you just broke yours?"... I let his sheepish look convinced me to give it to him, with the stipulation that I would break his neck if he came back with it messed up. He then had the audacity to ask me how much he should "hold over"... I said, "On your Sendero, aim dead-on at the top of the shoulder, and the base of the neck. Shoot the vertebra."... He was incredulous, thinking that just couldn't be done. I said do it, or you'll miss.... Later that morning, I came back with two does, having shot with one bullet... He came back with a big buck, was just flabbergasted. He said, " I did exactly what you told me to. I didn't think I hit him. He didn't move. Then, he just dropped to the ground. When I walked up to see him, there was a spot the size of my fist at the base of his neck. Right where I aimed.".. Moral of the story: Don't mess with what you're told.
icecoldmn So I picked up some extra siete barrels, question is, had I ordered a brake for the 338 is it special and would it blow up a tranquillo if it was used, I remember a post you made years ago shooting a 338 thru one but I was thinking you opened it up a little first?
grouse_brit I was waiting for a pic of the yote 😂
