... Speaking of flying ... I flew my Navion up to Colorado back in 2008 and dropped this bull elk at 415 yards across a canyon with a 6.5 Grendel ... in a stiff quartering wind ... one shot/one kill. To my knowledge, that was the first elk taken with a 6.5 Grendel, and will likely be the distance record until I've joined that elk on the Great Pack Trip 😎 ML

  -  j_raiderr @jafreeland totally depends on your caliber, what kind of animal your shooting, and how capable you are as a shooter. If you have any doubt in the shot the answer is no. 1 like
brittinghamjack My dad's first plane, back in the late 40's, was a Navion! 2 likes

  -  brittinghamjack @laruetactical I never got to fly in it or see it (I could be off by a year or two since I wasn't born). By the time I was born, he was flying an aero commander twin.
curtis_carp Cool story that I'll piggyback on. It was that year that I was in the market for a new caliber in my AR. I looked at 6.8 spc, 6.5 Grendel, 458 socom. I read that article and had no idea who Larue Tactical was at the time. I had just gotten into AR scene. After I read the article I knew. I made a call to SSK industries and spoke with JD for 15 minutes. I still have my 16.5” 6.5 Grendel from SSK. Killed 11 deer my second year with it and the farthest run was 40yds, longest shot was 263yds. So thank you Mr. Larue for turning me on to such a wonderful caliber. Of by the way. I'm now a customer 😂 1 like
  -  laruetactical @curtis_carp ... That elk covered about 10 yards before he piled up 2 likes
samuel.culper_sr I remember when you did that! Had the guide stumped when ya pulled your optic on and off and it still held zero! That was a great story! Thanks for sharing it again 👏 1 like

glashfordon42 Been looking at your 18in grendel uppers for a hot minute. This pretty much sold me on it. I was torn between it or a 6mm arc for paper punching 1 like
charlessanders1979 I think the grendel is the best, do everything round from 2 feet to 600 yards depending on shooters ability
