... And a random one was pulled off and measured. That's a tenth indicator (0.0001) and that part looks to be within 25 millionths 🎯💯😎 ML

  -  laruetactical @theblockofwood ... I've always thought of half a tenth as "50 millionths" 🤷 1 like
  -  ohio_outcast @theblockofwood another QC guy here. I wish my operators cared to run a part half as pretty as that. Would make my life so much easier. Instead, I have to bitch at them daily for ring burrs on parts they've been running for months. 2 likes

  -  ohio_outcast @john_t_fisherman you're good lol I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I work for a small shop in Ohio. We do just about anything, but mostly oil hose fittings for Parker Hannifan
  -  theblockofwood @ohio_outcast Deburring, feed rate, spindle rate and new tools. Key to pretty parts. Sadly lot of operators don't care or think it's not important. 1 like
  -  ohio_outcast @theblockofwood out of the 15 guys I've got, I've got 4 I think actually care about what they run. No pride in their work. 1 like
  -  theblockofwood @ohio_outcast My company has a manual and regular cmm. Coolant and burrs in stainless, different plastics, aluminum and wonder why I spend an extra 10 min cleaning parts before running a program or checking manually. 1 like
  -  laruetactical @theblockofwood ... We have a great group of guys running our parts. CNC operators are our life-blood. We debug the programs and run them in R&D first couple of runs to make them as operator-friendly as we can figure out, then they find areas that need tweaked ... add an M00 pause here to check tool, add a radius or chamfer you cut down on handwork, etc. 1 like

brian.morris.501 Do you all ever use cmm's to check dimensions, or just dial indicators? I've always been told that the backlash in a tenths indicator, plus the millionths of an error on the surface plate itself...depending on the grade, along with the ambient temp/humidity on the granite can't accurately measure millionths when moving off of one reference point to the next. Feel free to correct me if I've been told incorrectly, since you always speak your mind Mark 👍 1 like
  -  laruetactical @brian.morris.501 ... You noticed we pushed same direction gauge to part. We use CMMs and hard gauges ... we put our trust in hard gauges. 3 likes

j.bucki Any idea when RMR 34mm rings will be back in stock? Been on backorder waiting for like half a year or more. Thank you.
