... We started making these Targets in the early '90s. When war broke out, we got a rush request for 50 of each to be sent to each SF group, but had to get them on their docks by 60 days. We beat it by a couple days. In 2008, Ft. Eustis called and wanted six, filled to the brim, 40' Conex boxes of targets made and sent to Bagram Airfield, Kabul, via Karachi. The Conex boxes weighed 55,000 pounds each. Again, we delivered, making us the unofficial official target supplier to Afghanistan. Sadly, the Afghanis don't RTFM 🤷 Long gunners old and new are familiar with our LaRue Automatic Targets. Glad to get the call and be a part. u s ML

pftraining_in Be nice for some of those targets to end up in the DRMO program to keep serving LE state side. Do they have a NSN?

goldie_n_az I remember seeing some at Bagram when I was there. I should have taken a picture but in my defense, I didn't know the name and what it represented at the time. I do know that you saw a pic of my well used A2 after a year of use, and thanked me for my service on arfcom. 1 like
  -  laruetactical @goldie_n_az ... I'm guessing some of those Conex containers of targets never got found / opened in that rumored mega-mile-pile of containers. I did get a field report w/pics where the Afghan Army had found one of them and deployed the targets backwards and in doing so, had shot the automatic enclosures all to hell. Guessing no one found the on/off switch 🤷 2 likes
  -  goldie_n_az @laruetactical The ones I saw, several actually, were mounted to a civilian type of trailer, and were used. Everything was well maintained, just covered in dust and the goop that was getting us all sick (burn pits or burned poop debris falling back to the earth maybe?). May actually have been abandoned, like some unit acquired it, then left it somewhere before they packed up. Considering Bagram is now ancient history and we've given it up, it was located next to the ammo dump and 699th's motor pool support for Team Cadillac from Task Force Muleskinner. We lost three guys, one KIA the other two WIA while providing LOGPAC's to Mountain Thrust. That's how my once super REMF special A2 became so dinged up. The armorer nearly cried after our mission ended, haha. Good times. Take care sir.
