... Dang, did this solo and had the phone camera pointing slightly off. Anyhow, I loaded the "slug" into the top tube of my Beretta, stepped off 30 yards, aimed at the intersection of all four proof-group targets (taped to the cardboard backer), took a breath, exhale half and slowly squeezed the trigger. Then I show the "drop" that's left of the shotgun shell. Then I grab the phone and jog down to see where she hit. Yeah, it works 🎯 ML

  -  laruetactical @montanapete59102 ... I did, and I remembered the box of ammo I used to fill up the truck bed's side board hole where I dropped the phone in. 1 like

guardianfirearmco Used to do this as a kid growing up on a Trap and Skeet range. 12ga AA Super handicap will punch through a metal 55 gal drum... Father was less than impressed when all his trash cans had holes in them 9 likes
dustinray_ That's devastating! Somebody needs to shoot some ballistics gel and see what happens! 3 likes
trapshootb Yes sir it works we did that as kids all the time in the early 70's just like shooting a solid lead slug ! We called them cutters ! Most of us shot at the local club and reloaded. Had a lot of turkey shoots at the club. Model 12 Winchester ,Heavy duck Gun was the go too back then. Load up some Red Dot Smoking Hot cut shells. Man ,those things where devastating, too a old junk car we use too shoot up.can't imagine the chamber pressure we had 😮 dumb ass kids 😂 good thing them Model 12's are built like a dam tank ... 1 like
  -  meauxthompson @trapshootb We called it "ringing a shell" saw a guy ring one, shot a deer, dropped in tracks. Im in Louisiana 1 like

  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... And no one was more surprised than me as to how close to the aiming point it hit 😳
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical ditto... just shot my MGU today 🤠
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... Optic ? Ammo ? How quick did you like it ?
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical Vortex PST-G2 5-25 in an LT204, 62 and 69gr handloads, sighted in and then 👌. Will post pics in arfcom thread later. Ran back to back with my Shilen barreled upper
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... Did my barrel hang with the big name ?
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical yes sir!
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... Let me know when you slap some stuff up on the Wailing Wall
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical will do sir, just processing the targets now.
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... I saw you last post in the 16" MGU thread. My new phone doesn't automatically log me into AR15.com. Oh sit, Oh damn, now I gotta figure sumpin' else out 🤪 1 like
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical I just updated that post with pics and background.
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... I averaged the first two groups with the LaRue MGU (0.925 moa) and first two groups from the Shilen (0.825 moa). The LaRue MGU has never been shot until those two 5-shot groups. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm guessing the Shilen has been around awhile, well broke in. ML
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical the Shilen has a few hundred through it. That first 62gr MGU group should have been smaller, pulled the one
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... What do you mean "pulled one" ? Did it A.D. ?
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical I mean I messed up... shooter error, no problem w the equipment. If I hadn't messed up the 2 group avg would be .675 moa instead of .925 moa.
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... It would have been 0.675 moa if you had thrown that 5th round inside the others. All in all, I'm pleased with the way you shot your random MGU right out of the box 🔥 1 like
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical correct. Only going to get better from here, will post more groups in the coming weeks!
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... I see SuperJlarge trying to "help" you better shoot your new MGU rifle that has just 10 shots through it. Here's the deal ... it'll very quickly "take a set" and decide it wants to shoot "right over here". Then you can start shooting flies at 100 yards. 3 likes
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... Go redo your LaRue vs Shilen shoot ... this time shoot just 2 groups per page, a 3-shot group on the left, and a 5-shot group on the right. ML
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... Apples to apples
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical sure. Which load, 62gr fmj or 69gr rmr/smk?
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms 69g SMK
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical ok, will do.
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... Time's a'wastin'
  -  sebspeedcustoms @laruetactical I did shoot today, but did not bring the Shilen along. I played with the new lower I put together for the MGU. I need to use the same lower for apples to apples as the Triggertech Diamond would otherwise have an unfair advantage over the MBT-2 (imo). Going to try your 3 shot/5 shot back 2 back on the same lower Thursday.
  -  laruetactical @sebspeedcustoms ... It has been stated that the only thing that has any sort of "advantage" over an MBT is a "well used MBT".
