... today's experiment was to take an unfired 22" 260 Rem Siete barrel, do the break-in procedure to the letter, then shoot 10 fouling / sight-in shots, then five 3-shot groups to gauge accuracy performance. Because the break-in procedure requires an unfired barrel, we don't know how it would've shot without the break-in. We can see how well I was able to shoot it after performing the 20-Round Break-in ... five 3-shot groups didn't move the zero and averaged 0.481 moa.   -  laruetactical @texan.right ... It's a crow gun / deer-in-the-eye rifle 🎯 3 likes
  -  laruetactical @texan.right ... Notice every round landed soundly inside their 1" square white boxes. Also notice if you overlayed all five groups on top of each other, the 15-shot group size would be about 0.780 moa 😎 2 likes
  -  icecoldmn @laruetactical funny you say that as it was the first thing I thought looking at the target, second of course was it shoots a lot like my 260 tobr 🔥
  -  texan.right @laruetactical Great point, I didn't notice that before. Rifle is 🔥 I have an unfired barrel from you guys that I'm using in a build I'll give this break in procedure a try afterwards... Good thing we put A/C in the shop near the shooting table
usingmyrights Do you suggest this for all of your barrels? 1 like
  -  laruetactical @usingmyrights ... I'm not suggesting anything here. I ran the experiment and posted the results. But after seeing how much easier/faster it got to clean as we shot deeper into the test ... 😎 4 likes
bryan_barker whats lead time on LaRue Complete AR-15 Match Grade Uppers?

hey_itsme_phil I'm ready!
dougmcfarlen Compared to your usual "just shoot it" method. I'd say it's a wash. My stealth, predatar, and 6.5 CM Larue barrels are all sub MOA rifles. And I've found if it doesn't group it's my fault. Thanks for the quality products that are made in Texas. 👏 3 likes
  -  texan.right @dougmcfarlen same here. Finishing a build this weekend with one of their barrels and kind of like the excuse to sit around in the shop for 4 hours in this heat 2 likes
secundussystems Next time you build two it would be great to shoot a group raw with one and then do the break in on the second.
