... SIZE MATTERS (TM) From an old thick book I have, and no, I ain't posting the whole book. Note that 0.1 mil = 0.0001". So when he says in order to shoot sub 0.200" groups, you'd need bullets with a CG within or under 0.0001", and even then you'd have to shoot them through a bull-barreled benchrest rifle. These are things you have to know when you make precision barrels in pursuit of the smallest groups 🎯 ML

kinked_chrome Are you saying that your going to build a bullet balancing sorting machine?
  -  laruetactical @kinked_chrome ... No.
  -  laruetactical @kinked_chrome ... You each already have one ... it's called rifling. Let's say your rifle doesn't like Remington Core-Lokt ammo ... it's because Core-Lokt bullets are mucho out-of-balance. And because all rifles like Federal Gold Medal Match loaded with Sierra MatchKings, it's because SMKs are made with mucho care, with very uniform jackets and the lead core sitting dead middle of the jacket. 3 likes
  -  kinked_chrome @laruetactical haha, well hopefully the fgmm stuff shows up again soon. In the mean time i have been shooting IMI 77gr razor core, which it does pretty good with..
  -  laruetactical @kinked_chrome ... How good is "pretty good" ?
  -  kinked_chrome @laruetactical Out of my 18in stealth UU kit at 100yds, ten shots landed within 1.5in. 6 were touching, 4 were flyers. I have around 4-500 rds through it.
mark_133_navy @laruetactical - those dog gone .224 69 gr. SMK's are truly a consistent performers especially in a 1/9 spinner tube at .223 REM velocities🙌 SMK's jackets are one ☝ of the best. 🔥 1 like
laruetactical @mark_133_navy ... And that means the lead core must be very well-centered inside a very symmetrical jacket. 2 likes

mostdefinite You have my complete attention. 1 like
henry_bruns Bullet quality has a YUGE! effect on accuracy. A dedicated bench rest rifle capable of group averages in the 0.1xx" range will shoot 2-3" groups with crap bullets.... Like most any FMJ or military bullet. 3 likes
csolstice032018 A Vern Jeunke machine should be on your short list!
  -  laruetactical @csolstice032018... Thanks for that pro-tip 💪
