... The guys blasted and blued those prototype rings for me and slapped a Bausch & Lomb 2.5-8 in 'em. Thinking I'll get rid of the step on the base of the rear ring and make both bases with the big full radius on both ends of each. I'm gonna have to rebarrel that old 1970s era Model 600. It's a 6mm Rem, but throws bullets all over Hell's half acre. ML

sticks.mckinley Nice. You'll be glad when you have it shooting right. My Parker-Hale is a great shooter in 6mm Rem.
old_man_strong That plastic looks good! Did you replace it? Most of them are warped as hell. There are some billet replacements, but it's my brush gun not a show piece.

kodiak_precision Looks sweet on that old 600 . New barrel and bedding and it'll be shooter before long.
kodiak_precision Recoil lugs were just oddly made shape as I recall. Put a 700 Mdl. On it to clean it up that profile.

mandradetx I inherited my grandfather's late 60's 6mm rem that has the exact scope on it. I'd never shot it till a couple years ago. The scope hadn't been zeroed in probably 30 years and when I took it to the range it was shooting sub moa. They don't make stuff like they used to. 1 like

- mandradetx @laruetactical Just got home and pulled her out of the safe. Its a Balvar 8B with a duplex reticle. He had a similar B&L scope on his .22 Hornet and that one was tapered.
ianmixon1 I love my 6mm rem. I also had issues with rings now that you mention it. I think I also have a b and L scope with some weird crosshair. I ended up getting remington ramp sights installed due to the cost of machining a bridge . The donor reciever my great grandfather used was a mexican mauser. And of course the barrel is not marked. Was fun figuring out that it was a .244
