... Remember those Haas DM-2 CNC mills we had demoing at the ShotShow ? We put those bad boys to work soon as we muscled 'em into the shop after ShotShow and they've been knockin' out lowers hand over fist ever since. There's 4 up of Side 1, locked hell for stout in 8" Kurt Doublelocks, with wicked tough D2 Tool Steel custom made-by-the-toolroom jaws. It's a little unnerving how fast they switch tools - ⚡lightning fast. ML

dwr61 Just curious, with the number of amazing machines and technology that you have in the shop, how difficult is it to find skilled operators? Also, how many shifts do you guys run? Thanks for cranking out all those wonderful LaRue products.
  -  laruetactical @dwr61 ... It's getting harder and harder to find good folks. America's school system has convinced our youth that doing stuff is for the birds. Nobody works on cars anymore cause today's cars are nothing but a big damn computer. Farming has gone big tech owned/run by giant corporations with drones telling them where to plow next, backed by a PR team telling them how great they all are. Oops, I digress. ML 1 like
why_here_and_now Hass makes amazing tools. The code is important too.
meatsweatsmike Just watch and adhere to the total weight of the tool holder per manual, it sure sucks when the atc flings them out 😁 1 like
  -  laruetactical @meatsweatsmike ... Those spring-steel Cat40 toolholders are a consumable ;-) 4 likes
  -  meatsweatsmike @laruetactical It's bad when you know exactly where to position the box full of rags on the table to catch it.
