... Since this has turned into Sunday Story Day ... here's an incredible story that's been told to me by the man himself ... Lt. Col. T.D. Smith. Lucky for us all, Rachael Van Horn put the story down on paper. Remember my diary suggestion a few posts back 😎. Anyhow, I'll add a couple things TD Smith told me ... 1.) Doctors told him his head being packed in snow upon impact prevented his brain from swelling, a game changer. 2.) He studied religious history before going into that region, and his indepth knowledge and understanding of their religious history made a very favorable impression on the locals. 3.) The camera he was holding when the plane broke up was later found and had the photo of the dignitary he was taking and showed the window (behind the dignitary) fracturing as the plane (C47 ?) ripped apart. Another day in the life of American Warfighters, enjoy u s ML

ubadefense Wow, what an incredible feat to not only do something superhuman but to do it for multiple days.
It is admirable to hear about the superhuman strength in the moment of the adrenaline dump, it is another to defy death over and over again with such conscious and deliberate thought against the issue of the broken body. 1 like
