... We had to make our own 7.62 mags before we built our first rifle, in order to base the rifle off a "known quality" magazine ... and this pic is Follower Art - ML

josh.macintyre 90 percent of malfunction comes from the magazine. This is especially true in handguns. 2 likes
brett__2021 Is it an AICS pattern mag?

laruetactical @looserounds ... Boomer alert, through clumsiness, I lost your post. And I'm not sure where this one is going. ML 6 likes
  -  laruetactical @looserounds ... Can't click on stuff in IG posts, but I will say I showed up in late June at the MRGG-S open competition in Indiana and crushed it with 140 gr 6.5CM ammo that my three sub-9 lb / 17" rifles had never seen before. Most accurate / most reliable. Guessin' even us blind hogs find the occasional acorn ;-) ML 1 like
  -  laruetactical @looserounds ... Could've been any of a hundred things. A sticky ejector pin, a dying ejector spring, a weak extractor spring, a chamber so dirty it ran out of headspace,
  -  thirtythree_three @looserounds I apologize if this comes off like a jerk, but how are we supposed to take you seriously when you didn't even get the name of the rifle correct in your write-up? That rifle is NOT an OBR.
  -  laruetactical @looserounds ... gas leaking somewhere, slightly bent gas tube, rifle gassed slightly wrong for that ammo, etc. ML 1 like
  -  thirtythree_three @looserounds Ok, but shouldn't you at least try and get the name of the rifle correct?
  -  thirtythree_three @looserounds The difference between the OBR and the rifle you showed is not immaterial. Your write-up declares that the problem is NOT user error, but I didn't see any detail about checking under the hand guard to make sure that the rifle you showed (which is a "take down" model) was properly assembled. I have one of the rifles you showed (with 7.62 and .260 barrels, as well as a 7.62 OBR) and I will fully admit that I have - in haste - failed to properly assemble the rifle after it had been taken down. Given that it was not an isolated incident, I'd bet dollars to donuts that there was error in assembly. It can happen to the best of us. Most of us just don't write an article and say, "I don't know what the problem is, but I know it was the manufacturer!" I've had a foible with another Larue rifle, so it's not like I'm one of these soldiers defending Mark at all costs, but golly-gee-willikers, that's some irresponsible "journalism."
  -  laruetactical @looserounds ... I swept through my texts to that team, there was this one from way back - "Initially had some issues with a round failing to extract occasionally but a little extra attention to cleaning and upkeep of the chamber seems to alleviated those issues" - ML 1 like
  -  thirtythree_three @looserounds I didn't call you a troll...nor did I even suggest it. My accusation...if there was one...was one of ignorance. You a) didn't even know the correct name of the rifle, much less b) understand the primary differences between an OBR and the one you showed and wrote about. Yet, even though you didn't get these very basic things correct - or were even aware of their existence - you felt that you had enough authority to write about it? That's peculiar. That's sort of me forgetting to put gas in my car and then declaring that Porsche built my car with a bad alternator. How about you at least update your post with the "new" information I provided for you and apologize that your first write up was a mishmash of factual errors and a crap-ton if ignorance?
  -  laruetactical @looserounds ... After sending them links to this IG post, I got a detailed response back from that exact team this morning and it paints a completely different picture than yours ... theirs is matching up with the text string I still have with those gents from the beginning. The gist of it is, "Yep, there were some teething issues in the beginning that we worked through together, but that was thousands of flawless rounds ago." ML 1 like
