... The mummy lives !! Remember that younger Tsugami CNC Swiss Screw Machine we bought and unloaded here a couple weeks ago ? Well, we got some serious electricity hooked up to her and she fired right up and acts like she didn't "throw a clot" during transit. 💃💃💃 She yawns at 4-place decimals and she's got a whole heap of tooling that came with her, plus a high pressure coolant system !! Sorry about the exclamation points ... I can get carried away about upgrades in capacity u s ML
375 likessorentheswede So how many CNC drills, lathes, and mills are you running now?
  -  laruetactical @sorentheswede ... 150+ ... I've lost count 🤷 2 likes
gsprague We had a Tsugami at our old shop. For whatever reason it had to be programmed for radius instead of diameter. We switched exclusively to Star's, but I still miss the Tsugami 1 like
  -  laruetactical @gsprague ... The greatest machine tool repair tech in this solar system lives right down the road from our main CNC facility ... and his forte is Tsugamis & Okumas 💃💃💃😎 2 likes
peter.noowin Mr. LaRue, honest question, does each CNC machine have its own pros and cons? Like one is good at doing X and another is good at doing Y. Or is there a best of the best CNC machine that does it all?
  -  laruetactical @peter.noowin ... I settle on a maker for each style of machining ... Haas machining centers for milling/drilling, Okuma turning centers for lathe work and O.D. Grinding, Mitsubishi EDMs, Tsugami CNC Screw Machines, etc. 1 like
  -  peter.noowin @laruetactical that's so interesting to know. Learn something new everyday
cramer.owen Man love Tsugamis. I uaed to work at a place that had 5 axis Tsugami mills with pallet changers (fma-5?) and networked with a CMM and preset tools. That place cooked through some parts!

kodiak_precision Congratulations as I know how exciting that stuff is for us machinists. 1 like
matt_hansen_crushing_for_life Have you found there to be a shortage of CMC machines when looking to purchase this machine?
scottrailroad That's awesome...I remember those old fanuc controls! Cut my cnc teeth on a fanuc controlled 5 axis waterjet!!
stumpwso So….you're saying size matters?
