Okay, drum roll please ... I shot a three (3) C-Note group at 25 yards with that 200g Lapua Sub-Sonic 308 ammo from the Siete 17" 308 w/TranQuilo ... subsonic is why we feature adjustable elevation 😎 ML

williamdaytonphotography I'm not sure what we're supposed to be looking at here? The final target view is rapidly sped up and shows a hole off target in the cardboard backer?
  -  laruetactical @williamdaytonphotography ... It's not "rapidly sped up". I ran the 25 yards to the target before the IG 59 second clock ran out. 5 likes

  -  laruetactical @williamdaytonphotography ... "But" - but what ? 2 likes
  -  texansn_ @williamdaytonphotography it's remarkable, granted, not earth-shattering, but remarkable to shoot a group like that cycling through three different irons. They provide meaningful utility to a rifle in a pinch, or for roughing. The grouping around the point of aim (the bird emblem) is to be expected. One high round on the cardboard backing isn't some sort of demerit to the hardware. 2 likes
  -  williamdaytonphotography @texansn_ thanks for explaining!!!!

burninatingthecountryside I've got mine in hand. It doesn't have a Click Adjust Nut. Why are you shipping old technology? 2 likes
  -  laruetactical @burninatingthecountryside .... It's far from "old" technology ... a million mounts are in the U.S. Military system and there is no changing the dimensions/design of an NSN # 3 likes
  -  burninatingthecountryside @laruetactical the click adjust nut is better in every way. It may shock you to learn the average dorky American doesn't give two shits about NATO Stock Numbers. 1 like
  -  tstoneb21 @burninatingthecountryside it may shock you that @laruetactical didn't design it for you; he just happens to also sell it to you 4 likes
  -  burninatingthecountryside @tstoneb21 the old mounts are literally called "Legacy" on their website. CAN does everything the old stock does, and more. Every other major manufacturer has figured out field expedient mount adjustment. There are no .gov contracts for this boomer sight requiring use of ancient tech. I've got a room full of LT sticks, but this is a joke.
  -  laruetactical @burninatingthecountryside ... Welp, you don't know exactly how building shootin' stuff for Uncle Sam works, so we'll just leave it at that. Fact is a large part of our facility is dedicated to what you're bitching about, and we'll be building "legacy" mounts for Uncle Sam at least for another decade. And that's the way the cookie crumbles 😎 1 like
  -  dash_and_dugdug @burninatingthecountryside I think the solution is obvious...... drum roll please.... Don't buy @laruetactical products...... simple. Look at that, if you don't like it build your own, what a concept.
the_dude_abides_1911 Got my Sieta 6.5 CM last week. Less than thrilled with results. I guess it can't handle Hornady ELD Match 147 Gr. Both mags are jam o magic especially on last round. Maybe I'll have better results with the 308 barrel.
  -  laruetactical @the_dude_abides_1911 ... With that NightForce 5-25, I shoot Hornady 140ELD whenever I want tight groups. I've occasionally run out of 140ELD and scrounged up some of that 147g ELD. It didn't disappoint. 1 like
  -  laruetactical @the_dude_abides_1911 ... Oh, and what ammo did you shoot the 20-round break-in with ? ML 1 like
  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical I to use a NF ATCAR 5-25. I know it's not me because I have a plethora of your rifles and they shoot superbly. All are sub-MOA in fact. I did not get to 1.75 MOA with the Sieta until I put the Tranqu
  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical same as previously mentioned
  -  laruetactical @the_dude_abides_1911 ... I've had good Siete luck off a bipod while barely holding it
djg682 How would this do on for example the hydra mount from gbrs, in terms of lifting the sight so we crane the neck less? Or is the cnote concept that of getting closer to the barrel 1 like
  -  laruetactical @djg682 ... Neither, the C-Note is right there when you go to shoot. No craning of the neck, no squinting, just shoot. 3 likes
escottp I'm getting more convinced. It's sort of similar to your quick-release scope mount, which retains a pretty good zero when moved between similar rifles. Not sure that's a good example but it works for me. 1 like

  -  laruetactical @the_dude_abides_1911 ... Did you feel it get noticeably easier to push patches through during the break-in ?
  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical yea
  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical patches were clean as well
  -  laruetactical @the_dude_abides_1911 ... It'll shoot. Maybe it needs to foul in a little. Also, just for grins, retorque the barrel ... Factoid - at a recent shooting-science gathering at Accuracy1st ... they ascertained through superfine instruments, that LaRue barrels were the most consistent dimensionally, barrel-to-barrel. They just happened to have 20 unfired LaRue barrels that we had sent up to replace barrels on the A1st class rifles. They measured all 20 and decided they were all 20 within a tenth of a thousandth of each other. 😎
  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical not questioning your abilities. Like I said I have 13 different rifles made by LT. 12 of them run flawlessly.

  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical I sent Michael in your office an email with test targets. Let me know...

  -  the_dude_abides_1911 @laruetactical only Hornady
