  -  jeff.davis.9465177 @markkphillips this is an add on it will be covered under the "fall off" & "breaks" part of your argument. Just saying. 4 likes
  -  laruetactical @jeff.davis.9465177 ... The Marines adopted LaRue mounts across the board. And it was because LaRue mounts stay on during full-auto use. And everything else fell into the sand at White Sands Missile range 😎 13 likes
  -  markkphillips @jeff.davis.9465177, thank you sir; noted; however, it seems that your premise implies that nothing will ever work. 1 like
  -  jeff.davis.9465177 @markkphillips I actually believe that was infact your premise. You made the list. I was just pointing out your own logical fallacy.
  -  jeff.davis.9465177 @laruetactical I run LaRue mounts myself. I'm a huge support of your products. That doesn't they are immune to failure. And his argument was things break and fall off. How ever rare it is still a possibility. Unless you are willing to say right now that it is impossible and will accept all liability if we are using your products and are injured of killed by one of them failing? I don't for one second believe you silly enough to do that.

sterling_72 Honest question. With irons generally being considered a backup to a red dot/lpvo/etc, why would you ever want iron sights that are so big and bulky 61 likes
  -  its_me_garcia @sterling_72 no seriously, if they make irons that do exactly this but can be mounted as a backup to a dot it would be amazing. Though I'm sure they would argue that you can just swap your dot out for this in seconds.
  -  totally_twisted1 @its_me_garcia it looks like a pic rail. Why not just get a 45 mount? 2 likes

amd_ii Is the claim that this is faster than traditional rifle irons? 4 likes
  -  laruetactical @amd_ii ... the claim is a large percentage of the AR rifles don't have traditional iron sights 🧐 16 likes
a556nato What's wrong with normal irons? More precise with the longer sight radius 25 likes

laruetactical @sterling_72 ... If you think that's "big and bulky", your girlfriend needs to bring some tape ruler QC tools along ... trust, but verify 😎 23 likes

c.umphress Anyone with an ounce of metrology experience would understand the benefits of the C-Note when compared to a 2-piece setup. 2 likes
jakebeck1837 So will this work for any barrel length for a zero and how far forward or back does it need to be mounted?
  -  laruetactical @jakebeck1837 ... yes to barrel length, and as far forward on the receiver is the spot. If you have a LaRue rifle, you can put it way forward on the LaRue handguard. It gives you a "fine bead". We've noticed that other manufacturers' handguards are nowhere near as square and parallel as our stuff is. 2 likes
desert_joe Aren't a set of proper irons just a tiny bit more and way more effective if you want to shoot at rifle distances? 11 likes

jacktical So what is the ideal application for this? Replace your optic or run offset? Or either?
  -  laruetactical @jacktical ... Put on a rifle in your safe that has no sights of any sort, and shoot CQB with instant confidence 💃💃💃 4 likes
the_bronkowski @laruetactical why might a consumer prefer this over traditional fixed iron sights like a pair from Midwest Industries or Daniel Defense? 9 likes
  -  laruetactical @the_bronkowski ... You have assigned reading - Read all comments on last several C-Note posts 2 likes
  -  the_bronkowski @laruetactical I already understand what's provided from other posts. I've seen more of you being snarky to others in these comments and I've come to ask a question that I didn't get an answer to from said previous posts. I've seen what the C-Note is supposed to be used for but my question is why should I, a buyer chose this over your companies competition. If not even Larue knows that I guess never mind. 19 likes
  -  laruetactical @the_bronkowski ... I don't give a damn about my competition, they got their way, and I got mine. If you already have sights on a particular rifle, red dot, flip-up irons, or even old-style built-in irons, then you're all set. 6 likes

high_ground_actual So generally I am a curious person. So don't get offended when I ask; what is the advantage or function of the C-Note gained over typical irons? The premise is sound yes, a singular aiming axis on which to sight your target. But again, how is this an improvement? 1 like
  -  d_rock_cya @high_ground_actual If I understand correctly they don't need to be sighted in, ever. You put it on and it's ready to go out to 50. Not 100% on that though
  -  n_timlin @high_ground_actual d rock sorta hit the nail on the head. It's not about being an improvement over a sighted in / zeroed optic or iron sights. It's about having something that you can slap on anything and it work for further out than point shooting
t.j.waller Simple design that only requires an understanding of height over bore at close distances. 2 likes

lcpl_loreg Wish I would have got one with my MGU uppers. Finally finished my 308 and am extremely happy. Reminds me of a S&W performance center barrel. Looks great.

boriquais @laruetactical I wonder if you could machine a rmr footprint in front of the rear sight so you can mount that on there. I think that would be cool.
