... These are LaRue backpressure measuring devices we designed and built in-house. Unconfirmed, we may be the only team to have done this. It's actually measuring digitally, but I had my guys add the balloons for analog effect. ***** There's a lot to our backpressure devices. The upper and lower are suspended in a cavity that is exactly 0.050" to a side bigger than they are, limiting the space for the backpressure to compress into, which prevents it from escaping accurate detection by the ultra-sensitive digital sensors.   -  jyu_tx @laruetactical I understand but other companies make cans that also function but doesn't look like something welded together by a high school shop class. Love your mounts. 2 likes
  -  laruetactical @j_gatsby_tx ... You're wrong. But wait, all other cans blow a fuckton of gas in the operator's face ... so if "function" means they are trying to gas the operator to death, then you are right. 16 likes
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical "All other cans" what do you base that broad statement on? I would suggest a side by side shoot off with both your apparatus and rifles to show things like pressure stacking etc.
  -  jyu_tx @laruetactical You're telling me the aesthetics of your can help minimize gas blowback? Ok, we're going to have to agree to disagree. Good day, be safe. 1 like

  -  x2devgroup @tonynorris45 You missed the point. He said "All other cans" last time I checked, Surefire doesn't represent "all other". I have true zero backpressure suppressors. So, consider the gauntlet thrown down. 5 likes
  -  laruetactical @x2devgroup ... Since I appear to have made / have the only backpressure testers, how do you know yours has "zero backpressure"? Meh, I tell ya what, bring your "zero backpressure suppressors" to Texas, and let's see what "zero" = to you. ML 19 likes
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical There are other ways to test. Such as bolt velocity, cyclic rate on full auto, changes in ejection pattern, etc. Phil Dater (Gemtech founder) tested one of mine on an M60 with less than 1 % change in bolt velocity. My can are also at ARDEC Future Weapons Group and Aberdeen Proving Ground. The side by side challenge has been issued. Your apparatus and real live fire on different weapons and platforms. Put up, or shut up 4 likes
  -  laruetactical @x2devgroup ... "Put up or shut up"? I just put up. but I get now how you went from zero backpressure to admitting to speeding a gun up. Come on down, we'll slap your "well-timed" unit into my device and see what she says. Open invite. ML 21 likes
  -  thedogeoftheyear @x2devgroup You are obviously either a liar or you don't know what zero actually means. Speeding up bolt velocity even by one percent obviously negates your claim of "zero back pressure" which is stated at the very top of your page. Liar
  -  laruetactical @laruetactical ... The answer you seek is yes or no. And I'll invite DevGru down to watch ;-) 12 likes
  -  tarheeltactical @laruetactical @x2devgroup where and when do I need to tune in to watch this live? 15 likes
  -  laruetactical @x2devgroup ... What you may not know is I want America's warfighters running the hedgerows with the best available, so, since overexposure to burnt gunpowder fumes seems to be hazardous to their health, then I'm all for the best, whoever it is made by, because lung tissue may not be tough enough for more backpressure than there could've/should've been. ML 26 likes
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical I agree with you 100% That's what was my motivation too 👍us 3 likes
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical Less than 1% change from un-suppressed to suppressed is basically no change. No pressure stacking on full auto, etc. I'm absolutely willing to come down and go side by side. Especially since we have a demonstrated "scavenge" effect that pulls gasses forward. Which is why in the video link I provided, the ejection was further back and much more consistent than unsuppressed 1 like
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical What I suggest, is you post a video using a PACT timer in RPM mode. Do a full auto mag dump unsuppressed then one suppressed. Then I'll post one from Frank at Patriot Ordnance Factory showing only 3 rounds per minute difference 1 like
  -  laruetactical @x2devgroup ... I could care less about your suggestions. This thread is not about you and your unheard of prototype suppressor, it's about my well-engineered backpressure test device. Bring your 3D printed 1-off to Texas and let's lash it onto my BackPressure test device and take readings. We'll use the same device for both yours and mine, so it's apples to apples, same sensors, same amount of aluminum molecules. blah, blah, blah. And take dB measurements too. IIRC, my TranQuilo's retail is $400, so have your retail price slick handy so we can add it to the proceedings. I will send you a 5.56 rifle with a starter hole for gassing. You then gas that rifle to properly run with your can, and bring it and can to Texas. We will both exhibit running rifles, then yank handguards off, insert rifles into the test device and take readings. That's the challenge, take it or leave it. ML 13 likes
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical First of all, our product has been on the market for over three years. Second, it's not 3D printed or a prototype. Third, I have taught classes at Ft Bragg for JSOC, so am totally good on weapons tuning. Fourth, you were the one who said "All other cans" I'm reference to blowback and backpressure. Lastly, I absolutely WILL take you up on your challenge. As the immortal Doc Holiday said "say when" 3 likes
  -  x2devgroup @laruetactical And, I don't need to adjust the gas for running suppressed at all. I'm good with any stock gun 2 likes
