... I proof-grouped 2 dozen 6.5 Creedmoors today and a half dozen 5.56ers. With no brake, those 6.5s kick on both ends 💥😎💥 ML

  -  storman_67 @laruetactical it was several years ago, used a NF C545, you can range w/ it.
  -  storman_67 @laruetactical with an moa based reticle, I had to bring a cheat sheet for range estimates, yeah, I know, it's easier w/ mills. The only disadvantage w/ moa based optics at competitions these days is it's a little harder to steal dope at stages, you have to convert it to moa's lol. MOA based optics at competitions are becoming rare but very doable as range finders are typically permitted and distances are typically known.
icecoldmn Why no gas switch block on the 6.5 creedmores but 260's have them?
  -  laruetactical @icecoldmn ... Rocket science stuff
  -  icecoldmn @laruetactical cool I have a couple of each but so far seem to shoot my 260 tobr's a lot more than the creed more. Shooting 260 prime it loves the tranquillo and switch on suppressed even though the tranquillo adds very little gas pressure, with the hotter prime I keep it switched to suppressed all the time and it runs like a Swiss watch
idiot_engineer_ Question, in general do you need to break in barrels for precision rifles?
  -  laruetactical @idiot_engineer_ ... No, I shoot one shot to see where it's hitting, then find a spot in the reticle that will get it near an aiming point, then shoot a 3 shot group ... and done. 4 likes
foster63b Im gonna have to break down and get another I suppose 😂😂 1 like
storman_67 I need one, stretch the legs on one of them and see how they group at 500 yds
  -  laruetactical @storman_67 ... It's an angle thing. ... a moa = moa 4 likes
  -  storman_67 @laruetactical well, prove your theory 😉
  -  laruetactical @storman_67 ... That wasn't a "theory" ... but since we're being silly, how far out into the universe do parallel lines intersect ? 1 like
  -  storman_67 @laruetactical are you shooting laser beams or bullets? Sometimes an Moa doesn't equal an moa at distance, funny little things happen to man made bullets being shot out of a man made rifle. How bout a few 5 shot groups out of a 6.5CM at 500? Are you scared or just plain chicken 🐔
  -  laruetactical @storman_67 ... I'm reaching for the ban button, and the only question is 'do I have to take the Coriolis effect into account' ?
  -  storman_67 @laruetactical I guess you're not interested, that's ok, maybe I'll buy one and provide you w/ the results. 👍
  -  laruetactical @storman_67 ... My onsite underground range is 100 yards. But if I'm out hunting and shooting a 500 yard shot, I'll use Todd Hodnett's "Minus 200 Formula" ... subtract 200 yards from 500 yards = 300 yards ... meaning hold 3.0 mils holdover and shoot. So be it if I need a second anchoring shot.
  -  storman_67 @laruetactical yeah, I've tried that in competition on a steel fox, range unknown at the time, and missed just under the belly. For that stage, range finders we're not permitted. If I'm hunting and ranging is needed, I'll be ranging. I don't like wounding game, guessing it's no fun for them either. Tunnel sounds great, but I think you should extend it another 900 yards 🙌
  -  laruetactical @storman_67 ... How much camber in a 3 foot diameter 1,000 yard tunnel and what kind of mirrors do I use to keep target in sight ?
  -  storman_67 @laruetactical w/ a 6.5 avg vel, to be safe I'd run it up to 100"@600 yds and taper down to 1k 😑
heavybreather4 Hope mine was one of them!
muzzletalk How does one go about purchasing a 6.5 CM?
